Joseph Camps is being built to meet the immediate needs of people experiencing homelessness while helping them work toward greater stability.
That means providing a safe place to stay, food, clothing, hygiene, health support and practical help with the things that can make moving forward possible.
When someone has nowhere safe to sleep, everything else becomes harder.
Joseph Camps will provide short-term emergency shelter and transitional accommodations where people can get out of survival mode, regain some stability and begin working toward permanent housing.
The goal is not simply to provide a bed. It is to give someone enough stability to start thinking about what comes next.
A shower, clean clothing or a hot meal can seem small until you are living without them.
Joseph Camps will help provide meals, clothing, hygiene supplies, showers, laundry and secure storage so people can take care of basic needs with dignity instead of spending every day trying to find them.
These are simple things, but they can make a real difference when someone is trying to rebuild.
Homelessness often comes with health problems, lost identification, transportation barriers, unemployment and a maze of services that can be difficult to navigate alone.
Through staff and community partners, Joseph Camps will help connect people with healthcare, behavioral health resources, benefits, identification, employment support, transportation, case management and other services based on what they actually need.
Whenever possible, we want to bring that help closer to the people who need it.
Every person who comes through our doors will have a different story and a different next step.
For some, that may mean employment. For others, healthcare, recovery, benefits, family support or simply enough time to stabilize before finding permanent housing.
Joseph Camps exists to help people take those next steps with support rather than being left to figure everything out alone.
